The origins start out simple: I think, therefore I am. From there, the simplicity disappears and we are left floating in the void. Where do we go from there? As we try to make sense of the world, we are comforted with the fact that others have done this before. The hope is that we can build from it our foundations before we go mad, or perhaps we can only do so after we have gone mad. This is where the origins of the foundation starts.
The Void
Our mind is where we find the void. It is empty after clearing everything from it that we once knew. It is a blank slate in which we must figure out what we want to put here. It will take time to do so, perhaps this is why Descartes suggested a temporary home to stay while we build a new one. The beauty that comes with the void is we can imagine anything we want before we choose what we shall build. We shall use this space to run thought exercises that allow us to more clearly articulate our ideas. The darkness and emptiness must not overcome us as it will test us as we go through this journey. The hope is that this void will become our authentic self. For we do not reveal our authentic self, we create it.
Nothingness
As we float through the void, there is nothing. There is no meaning, no creator, no beginning and no end. We must discover for ourselves what this world is that we exist in. So we begin our long journey of discovering worlds as we build our own. There are but a few things that we need to go on this journey. We must find books or videos that will cover the history of the world. More specifically of the topics that can create worlds in which we can explore. The best of world builders come from Philosophy and Religion. For our sake, we will include science in the realm of Philosophy as that is where it once started.
The Map
Now that we have the map, we must spend our time exploring the new worlds. As we learn about these new worlds created by some of the greatest people to ever live, we must live in the world as if it is our reality. We must open our minds to the world they made for us, as we hope to build our own world. Their world is as real to us as if they had full dominion over every aspect of the totality of their world. We shall embrace this reality for the duration of our stay, both out of respect for the greats and as an aspiring world builder learning the ropes. World to world we shall learn so much, both of the good and the bad. Taking notes as we world hop, it will be a journey that will change us forever. As we leave each world, we are in awe of what was before us. As we watch it disappear in the distance, we can’t help but appreciate the gifts that the people who have come before us have given us.
Returning Home
There is an empty feeling when returning home. To see such beautiful worlds to only come back to the emptiness of our void. Now comes the hard work of using what we learned to discover the origins of our world. The two biggest questions that origins will provide is the nature of our God and our purpose within our world. We use our notes to figure out where we land on this topic. I’m sure there will be no shortage of theories, for most of the possibilities have been pondered throughout history. We must not be afraid, we shall be resolute in our pursuit of the Truth. We shall contemplate this question until the Truth emerges from it, as our entire world depends on it.
